ENDRESS + Hauser has released the RN221N combined active barrier and power supply.
According to the company, the SIL2 rated barrier provides galvanic isolation for a 4-20mA measured signal, which makes it suitable for use in hazardous areas.
The unit can be powered by 20-250V ac/dc, which is said to reduce the need for different power supplies at mine sites.
According to the manufacturer, the unit uses front-moulded HARD communication sockets, making it easy to reprogram the product without disconnecting any wires.
The power supply uses a conveniently positioned DIP switch and comes with an IEC Ex ia rating, making it ideal for use in hazardous environments.
