The little coal train CAN get up the hill, but Queensland Rail is being cautious

QUEENSLAND Rail says that despite the declining economic climate the number of stowed coal trains has fallen in recent weeks due to an increase in demand for services.

Many coal trains were sitting idle at Gracemere after the demand for coal had dropped.

However, a spokesperson for the authority claims the organisation was not insulated from the impact of the global economic slowdown.

Queensland Rail says demand for trains varies from week to week due to a range of factors, but particularly market conditions.
